VIN Verification is the process of confirming that the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on a vehicle matches the records on file with the state or other relevant authorities. This process ensures that the vehicle is properly identified and that its information is accurate.

VIN Verification is typically required when registering a vehicle from out of state, when there is a discrepancy in the vehicle’s records, or when a vehicle has been reconstructed or significantly altered. It may also be required for certain types of vehicle transfers or sales.

During the VIN Verification, the verifier will physically inspect the vehicle to confirm the VIN on the vehicle matches the VIN on the provided documents. They will check various locations on the vehicle where the VIN is typically found, such as the dashboard, driver’s side door, and engine block.

Ensure that your vehicle is accessible and the VIN is visible. Have all necessary documents, such as the title and registration, ready for review. Clean the areas where the VIN is located to ensure it can be easily read.
